We need peace and to prevent innocents from suffering!
We are shaken and disturbed by the events in the Middle East and the suffering of the innocent in Gaza, and revolted by the silent observation of those who have the power to change the narrative and the course of all events. We cannot and do not want to remain silent, as artists who have to be a voice for those who do not have one.
As a Festival that promotes peace, equality, solidarity, tolerance, empathy, coexistence and, most importantly, human rights and diversity - we express deep disappointment at the silent observation of the suffering of innocent civilians in occupied Palestine.
We are shaken and disturbed by the events in the Middle East and the suffering of the innocent in Gaza, and revolted by the silent observation of those who have the power to change the narrative and the course of all events. We cannot and do not want to remain silent, as artists who have to be a voice for those who do not have one, to speak for those who cannot, and unfortunately are not allowed to speak.
We are on the side of coexistence, peace, facts and on the side of those who are neither guilty nor obligated, they just want to live. Wars did no one any good. We must not cheer in war, we should cheer against war, because everything else is wrong. Killing innocents is not the fight against terrorism and it is not the way to gain your rights. As we daily support those whose voices need to be heard, we as artists, as film workers, stand loudly today with all the innocent victims of senseless war, against apartheid, aggression, raising our voice against aggressor policies and regimes in any form.
We need peace!
Our visual for this year's Festival, which announced 15.OFF, also expressed support for the people of Palestine. As a Festival, in the coming period, we will do everything in our power to help the innocent, who are affected by the conflict in the Middle East.
