The general press conference of the 14th OFF was held today at the Goethe Institute in Sarajevo.

At the press conference of the 14th Youth Film Festival Sarajevo, held today at the Goethe Institute in Sarajevo, this year's main program, all program novelties and locations, and special guests of the Festival were presented.

In his introductory speech, the director of the Festival, Kenan Music, pointed out that the largest and best edition of OFF ever follows, not hiding his enthusiasm for the amount of support from partners and sponsors, who made this edition of the Festival possible.

"This will be the biggest OFF ever. With forty films, almost 200 accredited guests and 8000 visitors that we expect, we are making a Festival that is important not only to us and our guests, but also to this city, culture, film, art. We will host award-winning actors, directors, authors and best of all - we continue where we left off in 2019, before the pandemic. "

The festival selector and director of the short film program, director Ado Hasanović, is delighted with the number of submitted films and the ideas, energy and stories of young authors. Watching 200 films, from the very beginning, as he points out, he knew that it would be difficult to choose the 14 best for one and 5 for the other selection.

"This year's OFF brings films and stories that concern us all. We talk about love, solidarity, struggle with the past on topics that concern us about the problems we want to solve. The energy, dedication and attention of young filmmakers is amazing. You have to watch these films, to understand the importance of short form and the importance of films by young authors. "

As part of this year's OFF, screenings will be held at the new cinema location - Vils Summer Screen. This is a program that is implemented under the auspices of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo in cooperation with the Public Institution Center for Children and Youth Novo Sarajevo. As part of the Vils Summer Screen, five feature film hits will be screened, and the last two days of the Festival feature concerts by the groups SKROZ and S.A.R.S. Admission to all facilities is free.

This year, the festival is held at 4 festival locations: Youth Theater, Gimanzijska Street (open-air cinema), and next to Wilson's Promenade, there is also the Goethe Institute in Džidžikovac, where today's press conference was held.

The reason for holding a press conference in the Goethe Institute building is the cooperation that the institute has achieved with OFF this year. In addition to financial assistance, the institute also provided the Festival with office space and assistance in the realization of the German film program and the In Focus: Ukraine program.

"Our Institute and OFF share the same values - freedom of speech, care for minorities, the right to personal choice, democratic values and principles, and that is why we are glad that OFF is in our house from today and that we are realizing this cooperation." The films shown by OFF are films that deal with topics that we promote. ”Said Simone Voight, director of the Goethe Institute Sarajevo.

At the end of the press conference, the main news for this year was announced by Kenan Music, director of Fetivl, who said that this year's special awards for Best New Apperance and Best Young Actor will be given to young acting teen stars.
