Bosnia and Herzegovina will, for the first time, have a presence at the film market of the world’s most prestigious festival dedicated to short films – the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival. Telemach OFF, with the support of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, will proudly promote young domestic authors and their works, strengthening Bosnia and Herzegovina’s position on the global film scene and bringing short films from BiH closer to European sales agents, distributors, and producers for potential future projects.

Telemach OFF has already established collaboration with the Clermont-Ferrand Festival through the Euro Connectionplatform, where it serves as a correspondent, as well as through various industry market activities. Their presence at the Short Film Market represents a natural progression.

During the market, an official partnership is planned between Telemach OFF and the Spanish Film Institute, marking a significant step toward international cooperation. This event offers an opportunity not only to promote local talent but also to seek new partners and open doors for collaboration in the film industry.

With the support of the Hvar Tourist Board, Telemach OFF will participate in Clermont-Ferrand in partnership with the Hvar Film Festival (HFF), part of the CINEA Entertainment Group. Under the joint banner “Shorts From The Balkans,” the two festivals will promote regional films and authors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, and North Macedonia. Alongside the “Shorts From The Balkans” branded corner, an industry screening of five regional films will be organized for both the industry and the public.

It is worth noting that Telemach OFF and HFF, as part of the same group, have significantly contributed to the production and distribution of short films in the region, with some works already available on global platforms such as HBO Max. Through market activities, Telemach OFF has invested over €40,000 in cash and services for short film production in recent years. The Hvar Film Festival, founded last year, has already met its goals in its first edition, becoming a key partner in the development of short films.

The synergy between these two festivals and their joint appearance at Clermont-Ferrand will further strengthen the position of short films from the region on the European stage, providing young authors the opportunity to present themselves to leading names in the film industry.

Telemach OFF continues its mission to promote and develop young talent, with a clear goal of bringing the film scene of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region to global recognition.

After Clermont, both festivals will participate in market activities and host their own events at the 75th Berlinale Film Festival.

This year, the 17th Telemach Youth Film Festival Sarajevo will take place from July 18–25, with the OFF Pro Film Market running from July 20–23. The Hvar Film Festival, along with the Sunny Shorts Film Market, will run from September 9–13, 2025.
