Telemach Youth Film Festival Sarajevo today presented the first of two short film competition programs – OFF Generation Shorts.
Some of the best European and world short films can be found in this year’s OFF Generation Shorts selection, which will show 10 titles from 8 European countries.
As one of the festival’s main competition sections, Generation shorts aims to reveal forbidden and undiscovered topics, enhancing emotions that we are once afraid of. With this selection, we explore how free we want and can be, and how much we can change the world around us, says the announcement of the selection team of the Festival.
OFF Generation Shorts 2024 brings films:
“Invicible Summer”, Belgium, ed. Arnaud Dufeys. This is a film that had its world premiere at the 74th Berlinale. The film “Fotto Di Gruppo”, Italy, directed by Tommaso Frangini, is one of the most famous Italian short films produced by Eclectica from the previous year, which premiered at the Venice festival. By the way, Franginiji presented his first short film at the Sarajevo Youth Film Festival in 2017.
The selection also includes the films “Suleyman”, France, “Prishtine 2002”, Kosovo, “Stuck for Stuck” from Austria, “Skulden”, Sweden, “Champ de Mars”, France, “Sorry I am late, but I brought the choir”, Norway and the film directed by Federico Fusolo from Italy “Zum see”.

“An Orange From Jaffa” is the story of Mohamed, a young Palestinian, who is desperately looking for a taxi to take him across the checkpoint to meet his mother, who is waiting for him on the Israeli side. At the checkpoint, the driver Faruk reveals that Mohamed has already tried unsuccessfully to cross the border and that he did not tell him the truth. Then the problems begin for Muhammad and Farouk.
