Niccolò Gentili

Niccolò Gentili was born in Florence. He began to study acting at the age of 16, and made his film debut in 2011 and then he went on to appear in Italian films and Tv series. He has been studying for four years under Actors Studio honorary member Danny Lemmo.

In 2014 he studied directing at the New York Film Academy and worked as assistant director. Starting in 2015, he attends a film direction master at the Fondazione Fare Cinema, directed by Marco Bellocchio and he directs his first short film “Volevamo Fare U’ Cinema”. In 2017 he starts his partnership with Ignacio Paurici, writing and co-directing his second short film “Paradiso” and his third short film “Non è una bufala”, winner of many awards and selected in the “Nastri d’argento shortlist”, one of the Italy most prestigious film prices.

In 2020 he was selected to the Venice Biennale college film with the film project “9 Months.” Furthermore, he is working with two of Italy’s most important film festivals, taking care of the short film section for Alice Nella Città and as artistic director for Cortinametraggio, since 2018 until 2024. He is currently working on his first fiction feature film and in writing other movie projects.
