OFF Pro Industry Days:Open Calls for Work in progress and Script Hub

OFF Pro is the industry program of the Sarajevo Youth Film Festival, which was previously known as OFF Mini Market. This program focuses on co-producing and developing film and series content, discovering new talents, and educating young film workers, such as authors, actresses, and actors.

As part of the Sarajevo Youth Film Festival, OFF Pro Industry Days is held every year and consists of several sub-programs, including OFF Script Hub, OFF Talents, OFF WIP (Work in Progress), OFF Distribution Talks, and Pro Talks. OFF Pro is a unique hub for young authors from all over Europe, providing them with the opportunity to present their projects that are either in development or finished, and to connect with top film professionals, producers, and distributors from around the world. The goal of OFF Pro is to empower new filmmakers, especially those with debut or new projects, by offering them various benefits through the Festival's industry programs. In 2023, OFF Industry days will be held from July 19-22 within the Goethe Institute Industry Hub.

Work in progress

OFF Pro is seeking work-in-progress projects that do not fit the regular call-for-entries, including multi-screen films, XR projects, installations, episodic content, interactive online films, (narrative) video games, or anything meant for outside the classical screening room. Projects in pre-production, with scripts, synopsis, ideas, or half-finished films are all eligible for application. We offer network meetings with programmers, feedback sessions, pitching opportunities, and are open to listening to any other specific needs that could benefit your project. The maximum co-production fund for the best project is 4,000.00 EUR. All interested young authors between the ages of 16 and 28 from all over the world are welcome to apply. The Festival team will select the seven best projects to be presented in the official Work in Progress pitching program, and representatives of those projects will be invited to Sarajevo during the Festival and granted the Industry badge, allowing them to attend all Festival and Industry programs. Results will be announced in June 2023.

OFF Pro Script Hub - only specified countries from extended Balkan region

OFF Script Hub is a brand-new industry program of the Sarajevo Youth Film Festival that focuses on promoting young writers and nurturing their talents to help them become great screenwriters and playwrights. In 2023, OFF Pro invites young people aged 17-25 from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania, Slovenia, and Kosovo to apply for this program and participate in the three-day lectures and workshops. All selected participants will work on writing scripts for two short films that OFF Pro plans to produce in 2024, giving them the opportunity to immediately work on a film project.

Applicants must submit basic personal information along with a written work, such as an essay, a short film theme description, a synopsis, or any initial writing with an idea that can develop into a film script.

The festival will select the top 10 applicants, who will be invited to attend the festival in Sarajevo. Results will be announced in June 2023.
