Telemach Youth Film Festival Sarajevo continuously follow world festival trends, and most importantly observes and learns from large and more experienced Festivals, on the way to improving the festival platform for the promotion of young authors and emerging talents.
The previous practice was that all competitive feature films compete equally in one selection – OFF Generation Features. In this context, films of large and small productions, submitted-selected as well as invited films from major festivals, films of famous and up-and-coming directors competed equally (but not fairly).
Wanting to continue building a platform that will appreciate diversity in film expression, production possibilities, but again taking into account the importance of promoting and preserving new film generations, the Telemach Youth Film Festival Sarajevo from 2025 includes the CineBloom selection in the competition program.
CineBloom is a selection that will present and celebrate new and fresh voices in cinematography, a platform for feature films by up-and-coming authors or authors with their first feature film, with a focus on the European region. This section is dedicated to supporting new talent, providing a space where bold visions and innovative storytelling find their first light. CineBloom connects promising filmmakers and audiences eager to experience the future of film today and the expression of new generations of authors. In this selection, the CineBloom Critique Award will be awarded and will amount to EUR 3,000.
Applications for the CineBloom category will be opened on December 10, 2024, together with the competition for submitting films for other sections.
The selection of OFF Generation Features remains in Telemach OFF’s program, which will continue to bring the audience feature-length feature films from major European and international film festivals, with an emphasis on films intended for young people. This section retains the status of competitive selection, which, along with CineBloom and OFF Wolf Competition 14plus, means that Telemach OFF will have three competitive selections of feature films from 2025.
