Telemach Youth Film Festival Sarajevo presented the members of the jury for the OFF Generation Shorts selection – competition short film.
In this year’s jury, Telemach OFF welcomed Amila Terzimehić, also president of the jury, director, producer and director of the Figari Film Festival Matteo Pianezzi, and director and Niccola Gentil, who also holds the position of program selector of the Alice Nella Citta festival in Italy.
OFF Generation Shorts this year presents 10 films from 8 countries.
Amila Terzmehić was born in 1988 in Sarajevo, she is a successful and well-known Bosnian actress with experience in international film and serial projects.
She graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo in 2011, where she was chosen as the best student of her generation. She received her master’s degree in 2021 at the Department of Acting, and since 2016 she has been teaching two subjects at ASU: Dance and Fitness Preparation for Actors.
She is known for her roles in the films “November Man”, “Tutto Il Mio Folle Amore” and “Summer Dew”, as well as in the TV series “Klan”, “Mom and Dad Play War”.
Matteo Pianezzi is an Italian director and producer who founded DIERO production in 2014 with his partner Corso Codecasa and since then they have produced over fifteen award-winning short films in Italy and Europe. Already in 2020, they won the David di Donatello for the best Italian short film with the film “Inverno-Timo’s Winter” by Giulio Mastromauro, and in 2023 they won the Biennale College with the feature film “The Year of the Egg” by director Claudio Casale, which was later presented at Venice Film Festival of the same year.
He is engaged in scriptwriting and directing for personal and commissioned projects. Since 2011, he has been managing the Figari International Short Film Fest and the Olbia Film Network and is a selector of various international film festivals. He is a member of the European Film Academy.
Niccolò Gentili was born in Florence. He began studying acting at the age of 16, and made his film debut in 2011, then went on to appear in Italian films and TV series. Since 2014, he studied directing at the Film Academy in New York and worked as an assistant director. He obtained his Master’s degree at the Fondazione Fare Cinema. His debut film was “Volevamo Fare U’ Cinema”. Already in 2017, he wrote and co-directed his second short film “Paradiso” and his third short film “Non è una bufala”. He is the winner of many awards and was chosen for the “Nastri d’argento” award, which is one of the most prestigious awards for films in Italy.
Since 2018, he has been working as a film selector for the Alice Nella Città festival.
This year’s 16th Telemach Youth Film Festival Sarajevo is held from July 19 to 26. The complete program and activities will be gradually presented during the month of June, while the names of the special guests will be revealed at the press conference in the month of July.
