The Chubbuck Technique is the most powerful system for actors to reveal their inner life in film and television, which is why so many Oscar-winning and nominated actors use it in their work.

By using the Chubbuck Technique, based on the international bestselling book “The Power of the Actor” by legendary acting teacher Ivana Chubbuck, actors will learn how to replicate the character from their own personal needs and life experiences. This approach to acting makes it simpler for actors to connect with their character on a profoundly deeper level. Feeling pain motivates us to proactively do something to overcome it. In this technique, actors use their own personal pain, insecurities, traumas, and fears to pursue the objective of the character they play. In doing so, the character becomes more compelling to watch and relatable to the audience. It creates a character who moves people, gives them hope, and makes acting a cathartic and healing experience.

Adam Davenport, the founder and Artistic Director of The International Acting Studio (TIAS), is an accredited Chubbuck teacher. Ivana certified him as the first teacher to introduce the Chubbuck Technique to Hungary and Serbia, making TIAS the first and only acting studio in the entire Balkan region to offer this Oscar-winning technique.

The quality of training at TIAS is consistent with the high standards of the Ivana Chubbuck Studio in Los Angeles. It is the mutual goal of TIAS and the Ivana Chubbuck Studio to raise the level of quality of acting and to standardize actor training internationally. It is our goal that when an actor enters a class at TIAS, they can expect the same level of training they would receive at Ivana’s Los Angeles school.
